nickel nickel nickel nickle

hey all,
feeling low key these past couple weeks…thought i would post these tracks today. I’ve been enjoying this record of folk music from Siberia, it’s pretty good, there few tracks of vocal duets by two ladies named Irina Khristoforovna and Anna Vasilevna Kolegova that are real interesting. So check them out if you like, the record is called Kamtchatka. I told crish that i was blogging today and he told me to add these tracks from an old Yazoo release on the Jewish clarinet player, Dave Tarras. Pretty cool stuff. The record is called Yiddish-American Klezmer Music - 1925-1956, there are alot of cool radio broadcast performances on it..like the three crish is posting….cool.

Lately, a jewish friend has hooked me with yiddish music. Thanks for these ones. She gave me this link where you can hear many yiddish albums:

Btw, are you streaming/podcasting spiritedradio? I’d love to hear your shows, those playlists look topnotch.

I wonder why the hell the first woman goes just by the first name and the patronymic and the second - by the first name, patronymic and the surname. Perhaps, a mother and a daughter..

There’s also this hip hop artist, who is an Orthodox Jew from New York, and he raps in Yiddish. My friend Gad was telling me about hm yesterday. I’ll have to ask him the name again…unless someone knows, apparently he’s very famous.
