You probably thought of this, but have you tried any of the unerase programs to recover your files? For the PC, I've used R-Studio NTFS very successfully, but you have to buy it. I recently read about PhotoRec on LifeHacker, and they loved it. PhotoRec is free and works on all memory devices including hard drives. Good luck!

Watching movies together sometime? Sounds like a very good idea! I don't mind optimistic films if they're good, I had a friend who was Portugeuse that I worked with awhile back who really knew his cinema. He told me that film (Sunrise) is awesome. He also kept on going on about Cat People, but the one from 1942 with Simone Simon. That one has also proven to be elusive. Most of my friends are film students so we end up freaking out about films quite a bit around here. Oh, and I was a dead pirate in a movie down in Cape Town once. I couldn't let the Dead Pirate story go untold, cos I tell it to everyone.

the books album is actually titled "lost and safe". I just keep scrambling it (already did the mistake when I published my favorite albums from 2005)

lol.

Those are good points. let's see:

Craig: Yes, you're right, uploading full albums is wrong, but I consider Benny a good friend, so even though I'm not downloading the full albums (unless I've been looking for them everywhere and can't find them, which usually doesn't happen cause I already have most of the albums I care about) I find his work very exhausting and I wanted to credit it.

squashed: I support the john coltrane choice. In the case of miles davis i'd choose sketches of spain. let me do a quick list... mmm, let's see, this were the first 11 albums I backedup while I waited for my mp3 library to come back from the dead (already recovered most of my mp3 so I can beat my brother with my crutches now)

Radiohead - kid a
Boards of canada - geogaddi
John Coltrane - a love supreme
The Books - safe and lost
Amon Tobin - supermodified
Antonin Dvorak - serenade for strings
Chavela Vargas - la llorona/oh gran dios
Lhasa - la llorona
Paavoharju - yha hamaraa
Tom Waits - blood money
The Knife - silent shout

laloca & merz: I'm feeking better now, thanks :)

Makrugaik: Why am I not surprised that you've seen and liked some of the movies on my list? I haven't seen any of the movies you're recommending me but they've been added to my wishlist already. Thanks. We should get together and watch movies sometime. Sunrise is really hard to find, we have a culture center in my town and they have a huge collection of videos and dvd's so I just go and rent it from there anytime. I must warn you that it is a very optimistic movie.
