Squashed has opened a new forum for us entitled free pony theory (not even him knows the meaning behind the name but I like how it sounds), we’ll be having a little bit of conversation about the music and the industry and just about anything you’d like to discuss with us (like best album of 2006 maybe?) and we’d love it if you’d join us right now! (please).
*Ryan over at muzzle of bees is offering a copy of the new Drive-by truckers album for free, all you need to do is post a comment in here about the last album you purchased and Ryan will random pick a winner.

Today is Easter in the Unit States. As part of my celebration of easter i’m going to listen to some rad easter tunes.
Crishy picked out some winners, oh man, that Rev. A.W. Nix kills me ! those harmonies on the Morris Family track, it just don’t get better!
In our part of the world people do dress up in pastels and listen to the reverend for easter, but i’d rather take to the street and parade. Caribbean revels: Haitian Rara & Dominican Gaga documents street music during the Easter celebrations of these people.
i’m going to parade this afternoon, i think.
word out!
Oh-mmh

Good morning. And yes, this list is 3 days and 5 hours late for actual intended purpose. But It’s still has some good music in it. It is a lovely list, designed specifically to wake up on weekend. Static Discos has remained at the forefront of experimental electronic music in Mexico since it beginnings in early 2002. The label was established by musicians Fernando Corona (Murcof, Terrestre), Rubén A. Tamayo (Fax) and Ejival, in Tijuana México as a sort of response to the emergent intelligent dance music community in the country and around latin america.
Recently, the label has released its first compilation, entitled “Lucky Stock”. On the cusp of a gamut of electronic genres (minimal techno, electronic pop, kraut techno, indietronica, elektrotecno, dub and digital jazz), and with a modest yet steady growth, Static Discos collects the best of the best to craft an engaging and important document of this emergent movement in our country.
Future-wise, the label will most likely continue to release its large core of artists and attempt to remain on the cutting edge of electronic music- it’s done an amazing job, thus far.
Childs - Oliver
One second bridge - ghost (aguardiente remix)
Carrie - Cat power
Pepito - the new world
