I'm a big fan of Arthur Russell myself, this year's posthumous releases "First Thought Best Thought" and "springfield ep" are among the best things I heard this year. And that Hisato Higuchi - Dialogues album is really good too... I was planning to post something out of it on a next post but you've beat me to it :) Machinefabriek is truly a curveball artist, I'd just heard both his chinese popular/unpopular song some weeks ago and he left me scratching my head in wonder.
