Desierto Acercándose

Un breve paréntesis de insidia e imprecisa nostalgia en lo que se me abren los ojos el día de hoy. Que ganas de quedarme en casa despidiendo a la gripe y viendo westerns hasta que sea lunes-

  1. Brightblack morning light - fry bread
    (Brightblack morning light, 2006)
  2. Euphonic - cattleprod
    (Euphonic, 1998)
  3. Johnny Jenkins - I walk on guilded splinters
    (Ton ton Macoute!, 1969)
  4. La gusana ciega - no puedo verte
    (Correspondencia interna, 1999)
  5. Love - alone again or
    (Forever changes, 1968)
  6. Calexico - si tu disais (if you said)
    (Convict pool Ep, 2004)
  7. Urge overkill - girl, you’ll be a woman soon
    (Pulp Fiction ost, 1994)
  8. John D. Loudermilk - the lament of the cherokee reservation indian
(The open mind of John D. Loudermilk, 1969)
  9. Killer Watts - the good the bad & the ugly
(The many moogs of killer watts, 1974)

moka, have you heard the latest arcade fire? It’s pretty good. Can’t say mindblowing, but I am in strange mood right now. It will take a lot to shake my head.

moka, the original “si tu disais” by francoiz breut is better than calexico’s version, if you haven’t heard it I’d recommend listen to her version first - Also youd might noticed already that the opening drum break on “i ealk on guilded splinters” was famously sampled and pretty much the whole basis for Beck’s hit “loser”.
    Nice songs, thank you.

  7. squashed says:

I post that song already last year…

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
hidden in the earth.
