I felt this had already happened but I was about to see it again…. Mind numbing, mentally crushing, membrane sloshing noise. Manhattan rumbled through night and I never knew that. Had suspected, had read it on t–shirts: ‘The city that never sleeps.’ But didn’t need to believe it. Sound disconnected from action. Each tone drifts against the next with nowhere it would rather be. No desire of dominance, No call to signify nothing. Gotta get me a token, make the rumble of the ‘A’ my lullaby. Gotta escape to the womb of my room. I never believed in New York nights.

Wow, “Thieves Like Us” seems to have taken some samples from the Durutti Column. I hadn’t known about Durutti Column until some of their songs were posted here, but now to me those samples are unmistakable.

That’s not to say that I disapprove: in fact, the opposite. “Drugs in my body” turned out to be a great song!

Fk: :) Si he oido la de los neptunes pero esta me gusta mas, los ultimos minutos de esta remezcla me encantan.

Eric: Yes I also spotted the sample right away, it’s from “sketch for summer” (think I posted it around december) love what they did with the sample.

    Also a quick sidenote:
The avalanches are back!! I’m really excited about seeing a release anytime soon. Ray of Zdarlight is a Wham! vs. Digitalism mash-up hope the next album is as fun as this song or the “since I left you” lp, I like that album very much.

If you visit theavalanches.com there’s a pair of mashups and remixes free to download.
