Imperial Lounge No.3a

In this little lonesome dwelling, with some slender means that she possessed, and by the licence of the magistrates, who still kept an inquisitorial watch over her, Hester established herself, with her infant child. A mystic shadow of suspicion immediately attached itself to the spot. Children, too young to comprehend wherefore this woman should be shut out from the sphere of human charities, would creep nigh enough to behold her plying her needle at the cottage-window, or standing in the doorway, or labouring in her little garden, or coming forth along the pathway that led townward, and, discerning the scarlet letter on her breast, would scamper off with a strange contagious fear.
- Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Scarlet Letter

Yeah, I realise this needs to be a cheerfull list. but at least the pix is bright, despite having a gothic underlying theme.

anyway, click on MIA link people. that site is on climbing back from changing URL mode.

This seem to be a rather excellent blog… however - what I would like to know is who created that delicious bookshelf on the picture that accompanies this post?

The image credit is at the end of each post. I am not sure if the photographer made it themselves, a digital alteration etc. I know as much as you do.

ahaaaaa…. thanks a lot - I’m obviously a bit slow. The concept behind the shelf certainly does not make it less interesting:

“The design house of mike and maaike developed a wonderfully elegant and simple bookshelf for a curated series of bookshelves. Its title: “religion”.

Niches for seven influential religious texts are carved out of a three-foot-long piece of hardwood and reverently cozied up to one another.”

It better be a set of really favoritest books, or else, going to waste a lot of wood planks. haa haa.

(but on serious note, the minimalist approach is strikingly elegant. very certain of what is and what is not, in term of reading material)
