Cinematic Hip-Hop (happiness)
“The idea was just sampling images and sounds to help tell the story and push it forward,” he explains. “I grew up in Brooklyn during the eighties and the golden age of hip-hop; before Eminem. As a kid I was a really bad graffiti artist and a really bad breakdancer but I still wanted to take some hip-hop ideas and apply them to narrative filmmaking. So that’s where all the fast cutting came from. It just happened to work really well with the idea of obsession and addiction.” – Aronofsky Darren interview

note: this is the other side of super serious playlists that has been posted lately. But exactly the same idea. Cut and past, mix of styles, find some sort of unifying theme. Blend and mix of idea and keep an eye what comes out. Still searching for the central idea of what is “Indie”.

thank you for the tosca. : ) anytime you feel like putting some of that up, please do!
Hey MJ, yeah haa.
I think if I tally the whole archive. I might have posted the entire catalog. I am trying to tone it down. I’ll do K&D and early downtempo albums instead next.
Bananas du brasil is a v3ry fun track. The ooohs and cut up voice somehow remind me of Junior Senior’s “move your feet”. Am I alone on that one :P?
Is that Annanas version a remix or the original one? A friend passed me that track years ago but its a different version from the one in this post. I like the drums on this version better.
It’s the original one
why hello unusual list!
i downloaded the list and listened it in shuffle option, quite an experience as i am not used to music like this. big A+
