hello, it’s me (ello! pt. 2)

I wish I had qualities like sympathy, fidelity, sobriety, sincerity, humility . . . instead I got lunacy
- Lily Allen
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music
- Angela Monet

i have a soft spot for todd rundgren so i payed homage to his classic with the title. either way i’ve returned with the second installment of my introduction. below you’ll find an eclectic medley of old, new, head-in-the-clouds daydreaming, grimy urban sub-terrestrial, lyrical, chanting, active, and passive music. my playlistism usually holds more cohesion and coherence but this reflective of the whole, not the sum of the parts . . . so — just enjoi.

– new pic . . . more relevant

Róisín MurphyRamalama (Bang, Bang)
(Ruby Blue/ 2005)
Madonna ft. OrbitalBedtime Story (Orbital Mix)
(Bedtime Story US Maxi Single/ 1995)
Animal Collective – Leaf House
(Sung Tongs/ 2004)
Lily Allen ft. South Rakkas Crew – LDN (South Rakkas Crew Crack Whore Riddim)
(Digital Download Release/ 2006)
Pink Floyd – The Great Gig in the Sky
(The Dark Side of the Moon/ 1973)
Lily Allen – Cheryl Tweedy
(My First Mixtape/ 2005)

note to listeners: the ldn cut is a bit abrasive, yes, but if you liked the social satire on the original then this one should lyrically satisfy as well . . . personally i think it is a vivid portrayal of urban life from the eyes of a disillusioned twenty something . . . beg to differ? i welcome input with open arms

“Hello it’s me”, a nice theme from “Songs for Drella”, by Lou Reed/John Cale; see it in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtF_tFDQGKY. Congratilations for your posts…

  3. Moka says:

I love the music but I have to agree with bubba, that picture is freaking me out every time I open the page.

  4. squashed says:

heh. The pixelation bothered me. I wonder if I can find extremely weird and distrubing picture but in drawing in sort of way.

The Orbital track is cool btw. Are they still releasing stuff?

  5. sonic_synesthesia says:

    that god forsaken picture . . . good gravy . . . haha

the pixelation was terrible, lazy editing, but just get a pic that has potential to be weird and distorted then photoshop it with effects and cover it with a drawing effect . . . all about the possibilities, every picture is a prospect

yeah i love that orbital track too, its from a minute ago but madge used it on her tour in 2004 so thats when i heard it . . . but i dunno if theyve released anything recently . . . good quest.

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
