Summer’s End

The sun stands still in time over the cityscape. Autumn and nocturne rest their weight upon solar shoulders. Daydreams and nightscapes fade slowly over the horizon. Warm hues dim. Fireflies dance their finale below cosmic bodies above. Haze lingers and weary bodies follow streetlights away from distancing sounds of their urban playground. The Fall hovers tonight while Indian summer holds nostalgia at bay one last time.

So revamp. Couldn’t drop miles, sarah, or the last one i dunno why not the last but either way . . . more electronic on the second go round . . . squashed, im trying, i swear on my life . . . granted MdM is downtempo — i figure there’s gotta be that dim area before the dark darkness, even in music

Miles Davis - Summertime
(Porgy and Bess/ 1958)
Sarah Vaughan - Summertime (UFO Remix)
(Verve Remixed/ 2002)
Dr. Stepper a.k.a. Doc Steady - Summer’s End
(acidplanet.com/ 2007)
Dfault - Simple Things
(acidplanet.com/ 2006)
David McKee - Ancient Rooms
(acidplanet.com/ 2007)
minor notes: my name should be ‘work in progress’ — moving on, personal fav is the sarah vaughan track i just listened to it again for the list and its so indicative of the scheme — not dark or light but dim– the merger of the lyrics and the electronic with the instruments, so i suggest giving it a try as well; its another eclectic mix somewhat but more coherent and there’s bound to be something you’ll like in there, so dabble and sample away; leave some feedback if you like, or don’t (likely); picture is more on point . . .

hey s_s, is this trans-coding? All of the top tracks sound muffled.
Oh, and that Kenny G track? you gonna pay dearly… lol. It is as annoying as all Kenny G muzak. What’s wrong with that guy. It’s total ear bleeder.

(downtempo list is MdM’s specialty, a lot of people are watching … You gonna raise a riot … :D)

arite so i nixed the g . . . i keep mucking something up . . . ill follow protocol and keep a lo pro until i manage to get back on the boards good graces . . . the risky thing about risks is they can go either way . . . but in all fairness i never woulda posted so much jazz if it wasnt for your post with branford marsalis, united future organization, wayne shorter, tomorrow, and co. so really you have yourself to blame . . . either way i just found some good downtempo electronic that is much more on pace with the usual here so, worry not . . . no riots, pleeeeease . . . and i had to post a last hurrah for the summer, because fall and winter are downtempo seasons . . . strike two — what happened? tell me its halfway decent though.

I was talking a few hours ago with a friend about what a complete asshole Miles was when he wasn’t blowing his trumpet. Been spinning his albums a lot lately, specially the bitches brew and his collaborations with Trane. Good choice, that summertime is by far my favorite version of the song.
