Been absent for a while and now this is a slight return. Here are these small tunes that I’ve been digging these days. Nuno Canavarro and The Hibibiyya (and some other bands like L’Infonie) are some real surprises - old gems from the 60-80’s again - I’m still so in love with that era. And almost without a doubt, Belgium’s Delphine Dora to me is one of the lovelist. I’ve been totally amazed me by her murmurs in her own secret language. More revivals to be continued…
1. Oh, Birds! - Wrappedinplastic
“…of grief and satellites” / 2007
2. Of - Many Marriages
The Buried Stream / Jewelled Antler
3. Nuno Canavarro - Bruma
Plux Quba / 1988 / Ama Romanta
4. Habibiyya - Koto Piece
If Man But Knew / 1972
5. delphine dora - ladiyaochoupala
floating existence / 2005 / Another Record

Last one, this is amazing composition. (truely effing amazing. move toward the middle of the piece. I can’t stop watching)
Vladimir Chernukh - Fractals Op. 142
Nuno Canavarro, Habibiya and Delphine Dora are my favorite picks in here, they seem to come from a wholly different universe, safe from the erosionary forces of time and environment.
I have the mr. wollogallu album with Carlos Maria Trindade and Nuno Canavarro and it sounds nothing like this song in here. That one is pastoral and sweet experiments on electronica but this one sounds mysterious and dreamlike. Yum. Should get my hands on it soon.
New member? Interesting collection of songs, hope to hear more of your 60/80 library soon ;)
No, that’s sarkali under new guise
thanks for the videos squashed. carlos maria trindade and nuno canavarro? interesting, i gotta check it out even if it’s not that good(?) and more 60-80, for certainty
No, it is quite good, I’m just inferring they are both very different albums based on this song you posted, “mr. wollogallu” is much more simple and a bit esoteric but equally beautiful (again I’m just inferring since I haven’t heard “plux quba” yet but I was reading some reviews and they’re all very favorable) I’d recommend you to take a listen first to the one called “cmt plan” and if you like them then get the whole album.
I’m currently in love with the habibiyya track by the way,is the whole album as good as this track?
Woah, I’m loving the ‘Oh, Birds!’ track. Thanks for introducing me to them!
Far and away the best music blog. This playlist is my fav so far
