In Greek myth, all Autumn & Winter Demeter, goddess of the earth, searches for her daughter, Kore, who has dissapeared into the underworld. The earth grows cold and barren because of Demeter’s grief. Near spring, Demeter meets Baubo, a goddess who speaks through her vagina and tells bawdy jokes. Demeter laughs and spring begins.
Nice little spring mix. And what a wonderful way to add colour and atmosphere to the mix by using the myth of Persephone’s return and the beginning of spring! It fits very nicely with the odd theremin sounds of Clara Rockmore. :-)
Now I just wish I could dreamily wander around in that picture with this mix on my headphones…

She worked with Leon Theremin in modifying the Theremin to suit her style of classical performance, and even devised her own fingering techniques to master the delicate pitch regions of the instrument.
