Por estas fechas me gustaría pasarla en alguna ciudad grande. Caminar mucho. Para los extranjeros de paso, Nueva York es un gran lugar porque uno puede vivir fuera del murmullo de las grandes urbes sin desconectarse del todo. Un cielo casi siempre nublado, buenos restaurantes étnicos, buenas librerías y muchos taxis y cafeterías. Nueva York es una ciudad entera erigida en contra de la identidad propia de Estados Unidos. Se tolera y se celebra que cada cual se vista y hable como quiera, pero siempre existe una fuerte curiosidad por el otro y el hecho de que todos son un poco ese otro. Manhattan es el gran sueño de un capitalismo para todos y para nadie. Un sueño que a veces quiebra el alma y la vida de algunos de los que lo intentan, pero respeta ante todo la innovación, el espectáculo, la autoparodia y cierto igualitarismo moderado.

Note: With this playlist I wave 2007 goodbye. For a 4th year in a row I’ll be travelling to the mountains for New Year’s Eve with my family and some friends and I wont be back until Wednesday… I think. Thank you all for the wonderful year and hope you have a fun weekend. See you in a bit.
