Coming Home / Electronica

“I don’t think the future is only about the musicians of the now,” Cobain replies. “The future is also inhabited by the past; it is about past messages coinciding with future technologies to bring profound truth. What you can’t see is what we believe in. Whether it is organic food or psychedelic, electronic, oak-tronic — whatever it is.” - FSOL interview.

note: The future is boundlessly optimistic type of list. This is an opening for my 2008 program. All the thing I want in list, except maybe they are not 2008 tracks. Electronics, exciting new rhythm or idea, revisiting the old classic in new light, slightly faster head bopper. Generally messing about trying to find new combination. Also: I can’t find the small write up I did for I am Faux Pas from last October before I lost my connection. At any rate check out his blog, he has a cool album released. This is also my new year-ish near danceable list. I’ll post another rock list before doing my favorite fun post “2008 List”. Have a nice weekend.

Not a bad selection but please, don’t use the word electronica. Just.. don’t. Beg you. Leave it for Madonna and HMV staff.

It’s a good descriptive word. Just because rock snot doesn’t like “electronica” and prefer some fancy vaguely hip term doesn’t make it more palatable.

If a music needs some fancy terminology to make it going, that music probably is too faddish for its own good.
