GoBama / Elegant Polyglot - no.2

Today we are engaged in a deadly global struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true direction. ~ Barack Obama

Note: Another Gobama list, This one is actually complicated to make since I want it thick with rhythm, clean, fast, but also enjoyable. Contrast to last one that is forceful. This series turns out to be interesting because I have to find “different” combination, something odd yet not weird. Remixing favorite songs and finding futuristic blend. The working title was ‘Houston polyglot mix‘. I want a list that is steady and restrained, southern politeness, but also fast and delicate. Friendly to ear dance like beat. It comes with Country-Jazz-Jungle all blended tightly and flipping within blink of an eye. Anyway, hope it works. A lot of interesting songs in there. Also: visit Comfort Radio. I crib his songs.

To be honest, the other design was much better, more caring, more elaborated. It made a difference compared with all the other blogs. I like the painting from above, though. Thanks for the web, anyway. It’s great. I always get to know great songs and artists!

moooka, don’t worry this is not the definite template I’m just experimenting with different templates and plugins. Site will be experimenting some minor tweaking until we decide what to do.

What happened?!?! I was in the middle of streaming and *pooof*! Where’d the coffee mug with the oblique expression get to? I love orange, but the design seems less … hmmmm … I dunno. Not as serious. Not that I don’t like the main graphic, but there was a sense of taking the music seriously that the previous design conveyed eloquently, subtly.

Again, sorry, just testing. Wait around 5 minutes and click refresh and everything will be back to normal.

Like a daydream or a fever.

This reminds me I need to do a Hiphop post soon. I used to listen to a lot of Hiphop until 2002 or so. Should be fun to dig up some of that stuff. I was a big fan of the Jurassic 5 LP in 1998 and then later the Quality Control album, but when Power in Numbers – the one of which a track is used in this post – came out I already wasn’t listening to much Hiphop anymore.

About the site design, I’m kind of surprised and glad at the same time to hear that people like the current site design so much. Of course it’s impossible to have a website or blog look the same forever but it’s definitely something we need to take into account. Some more feedback from our regular visitors would very much be appreciated of course. :)

    I agree completely, LDP!

    This is what happens:

    - The old design + old wordpress were hacked. So we have to take it down.

    - Everybody is kinda busy to fix and put up new design quickly. So it was a temporary template. This current one too (as you can see the sidebar is messy)

    - We do need new template design. so if anybody has input, what you like/don’t like/etc do say something, while we are doing the new template.

I don’t think it needs a drastical change, the chromatic selection works fine imho, think we just need to update a few things. Mainly the sidebar and the header. I don’t know how we’ve never changed that header… I did it in a couple of hours all the way back to october 2005 and I’ve been wanting to change it ever since.

Bubba you should definitely do a hip hop post :D

ok, regular visitor, but i don’t comment much - but you asked so

the new design makes me feel a little like i’m sitting in a diner looking at a menu - this is not a bad thing - i like sitting in diners looking at menus

i sorta miss the coffee cup, tho

and i sorta feel like my eyes want the image at top to be more vivid/less faded

but who cares? y’all have one of the best mp3 blogs ever - thank you thank you a million times over
