Where it says snow read teeth-marks of a virgin
Where it says knife read you passed through my bones
like a police-whistle [...]
Remove all periods
They are scars made by words
I couldn’t bring myself to say
Put a finger over each sunrise
it will blind you otherwise

Deep discofield house? Musical hairsplitting asides, I’ve really been enjoying these type of music every weekend when I end up doing long late night drives to find my way back home. Keeps me focused enough so I don’t fall asleep at the wheel and the simple spheric beats seem to synchronize almost perfectly with the blinking lights of the city.
I’ve found that they are very elastic as well: turn the bass all the way up and they’re club-friendly, turn it down and you have yourself some sort of philly lounge groove that you can play safely at home without annoying any of your roomates.

    Nice Moodymann reference!

And terrific list! Good driving music is critical - sometimes I rent a car just so I can listen to music in it.

I recently discovered what may be my favorite driving track of all-time (well, of last year at least): http://kinosport.tv/2008/01/13/highway-blast/

James: Yes! you could say the whole playlist is some sort of tribute to Moodyman, I consider him the true pioneer and one of the greatest influences in this type of music. Glad someone catched the reference.

My car has a very old stereo and I can’t play this type of music on it (it’s a 240sx from 1994! great car but I’m yet to buy a decent soundsystem for it) and sometimes I borrow my father’s car which has a wicked bose sound which makes all my records sound 90 times better than in my car.

That Einmusik track is amazing, nice build. I downloaded it from kinosport when you posted it one month ago. Have you ever heard “e keli” by them? Brings some good memories in me.

Angry Viking: Thanks for spreading your viking love. May I ask what is it that is making you angry?
