Three Lists for The Lover (La Maja De Goya)

The inenarrable godhead of delight?
Love is a flame:–we have beaconed the world’s night.
A city:–and we have built it, these and I.
An emperor:–we have taught the world to die.
So, for their sakes I loved, ere I go hence,
And the high cause of Love’s magnificence,
And to keep loyalties young, I’ll write those names
Golden for ever, eagles, crying flames,
And set them as a banner, that men may know,
To dare the generations, burn, and blow
Out on the wind of Time, shining and streaming . . . .

note: In odd calm but anxious type of sonic. So here is one that I played very loud while trying to make 90′s dissonant list (June of 44, early Blonde Redhead, Sonic Youth, etc) I’ll try to finish this series first before going to more serious list. Anybody following SXSW? I tried but their catalog this year doesn’t draw me at all.

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
hidden in the earth.
