Welcome to the Jungle …

Spring has sprung — right into the Summer. The daily commute is no longer welcomed by a transition seasonal breeze, but rather by the lingering haze that sticks to the skin. The ambiance of the city is set by a heat no shade can quench and humidity thick enough to hold in one’s hand. The inner-Amazon need not travel overseas to experience the jungle, as this metropolis transforms itself into an urban jungle for the next three months. To welcome the sudden, but inevitable change, a Jungle list.

Like the title notes, this is a relatively introductory foray into the Drum n’ Bass genre, thus the first track is:

    Finally some drum n bass! Nobody ever posts any dnb these days. Sometimes I spend hours just searching it out just so I can find out about some new artists. Not that this post is necessarily exposing new artists but still, good work!

  9. sonic_synesthesia says:

    thanks dusty, always glad to hear positive feedback. i’ll try to post more indie/unknown artists in the future. dnb is a rarity though, unfortunately.

    I just found these guys on YouTube. Relatively unknown at the moment, but very original and different for drum and bass. Unusual videos too.

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
hidden in the earth.
