Not that there isn't any funk or soul on the indie side, quite contrary there's so much out there that it's a wearisome experience to try and dip in to it all of the sudden, I seriously need some guidance. Almost all of the well known ones are owned by major labels. And it takes time to find those that is still released by indie labels. Plus, we are not that knowledgeable in the genre, so ... yadda yadda.. It takes slightly longer to figure a nice list... this as oppose to downtempo or folks, which is MdM main material.
