This wont be a week of animals

Shadows, you say, can fool the eye about how close a foothill may be
and yes, I see how less indigo gives the water a less fearsome depth
and that white is white and I won’t need much. I accept
this won’t be a week of animals and that you’ll tell me when I’m ready.

A collection of shoegaze-derived electropop. I was trying to find a sound that was fun, indulgent and sexy at the same time and I came up with this. I love how the layers of sound start following a chaotic representation of themselves after they get bloated in the same audio channels. It corners the songs and they have nowhere to go but outward in all directions. Like a fountain or a volcano.
Please don’t get frustrated if you cant make any sense out of the whispy, androgynous vocals. I can assure you they’re all about sex.

    All I have to say is that I was feeling a sensation of lacking as I progressed through the list – I wasn’t getting that feeling of “fun, indulgent, and sexy” as I made it from song to song……until I reached the School of Seven Bells – wow. What a great jam – awesome addition and in my opinion, completely validates and makes this list!

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
hidden in the earth.
