"Sightly Sue" -- and Cooley-Munson -- was the discovery for me in this mix. What an odd hazy seaside groove.

interesting group of songs, sir (or mam)! whilst driving down the highway after putting this list on a travel cd, digable planets came on with "that" song above. i'm not a fan of hip hop, but there were some transcendent parts in that song. i wonder if anyone bothered to remix out the oddities. if anyone knows, please post.

cocorosie sounds like johanna newsom moved to france...unless the group is made-up, or maybe just the lead singer is in love with johanna. an unusual listening experience anyhoo.

and finally, i'm sure yegelle tezeta goes on a bit longer and doesn't fade out? i love that series...so cool the sort of funky jazz superimposed on the repeated ethopic patterns (or the other way around, whatever). that music would also be way-cool if it was redone with other instruments. the saxophone is always slightly irritating to my ear.

great work!

Wow, there's an insane variety of music on this blog, very nice. The Mulatu Astatqe is amazing- I'm sure I should know this from somewhere, a film, maybe. Thanks.
