Ella fue (She was the one)

Photo: Julia Galdo.

Now that I am no longer a hyperbolic youth able to make love to you 37 times an afternoon, perhaps my odes are better in recompense.
Here is a semitransparent pebble I picked up on the way to my EKG. Probably worthless but it is my heart so take it. Step inside the lightbulb of my fermentation, Aphrodite, and tell me of the heating ducts of your day.
Put your eyelash on my pillow, I will do whatever you say.

The intro of “Heat Wave” seems to have a superficial resemblance to the intro of Dove’s “Black and White Town”.

a better translation to “ella fue” would be “it was she”

    Andrasfox: Ha! ¬¬

David K: You must not be the only one who thinks it! I did some google search for ripoff claims and I even found a mashup (not very good, mind you) of both songs:

Jerm: I transcribed it from a magazine. I have no idea if it’s actually contained in one of his published books or not but I wholeheartedly recommend buying any Dean Young book you find if you like his style. I own ‘Skid’ and I love it. Been meaning to get my hands on his new one ‘The Art of Recklessness’. I’d also recommend the books ‘Crush’ by Richard Siken and ‘Wind in a Box’ by Terrance Hayes.

Allicette: Thank you, although I wasn’t really trying to translate the phrase. I was actually quoting the song contained within the post… that couple of spanish/english words comprise pretty much the whole lyrics of the song.
Some really nice photographs you’ve got there on your portofolio by the way.
