I’ve been collecting lately – drum machines, tape delays, reverb units, anything that sounds like its from another place, decade, or planet. My record purchases have reflected this too – lots of 80s experiments, home recordings, private presses and the like. This is a succinct selection of  tracks which border on being not-quite-right. Lively drums, silly effects and a DIY attitude. Most of these tracks are from the early to mid 80s (with the exceptions following a similar aesthetic).

I’ve dropped off the posting wagon… but i will be clawing my way back on over the coming months… Many records to share.

    Hi Andras!
Been listening to this playlist the past hour and have to say this is excellent. I could definitely hear some of this as an influence on your personal style. I’m at work right nowso I don’t have my music collection nearby but I might have some recommendations in a similar vein.

I was looking for your music on Spotify last week and found the “your life” ep. I think you posted a demo of one of the tracks over here. Sanctification and Your Life are great. Anyways, a bit curious were you aware of this? Do you receive any sort of compensation or notice at all?

Remember that Spotify is available only in the following countries:Finland, France, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden & United Kingdom…*^)…That is a lot of people…8^)…But that is useless for The Whole Earth part that is not included in this Selective Market…8^(…So, remember : We need Motel de Moka!!!

Nice mix. I really love the riffs in the Solid Space track. Gonna spend some time tomorrow figuring them out on guitar.

    thanks moka!

i don’t have spotify here in australia, but the tracks were on a release put out by the UK label Audio Parallax. It’s out on juno download, and some other online places.

I’ve got some new music to share that i’ve made with Sui Zhen – we have a collaborative EP in the works. Really looking forward to more posts – i’ve just come back from Sydney with a handful of rare records that will be appreciated by you folk.

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
hidden in the earth.
