Winter

L’ora e dispiegata nella neve
come un lenzuolo al vento.
L’ora senza fondamento,
che ha spento il prima e il dopo.
L’ora che ha cancellato ogni cominciamento

Stanno soli nell’ora il cavallo e l’albero.
Stanno da sempre nella neve.

- Antonio Prete, un cavallo nella neve.

Is it me, or does the Durutti Column sound ahead of their time for 1979? I really didn’t hear this kind of music, until John Peel played some Rothko.

Sketch for Winter is amazingly beautiful.

The durutti column, a pitchy, snowy music, contrasts of air… wow still his collabration with Morrissey rings in my ears …it was a masterpiece.

Nice playlist; I especially loved “mountain call”, is that Maria tanase? how come 2005? anyway, very nice. You should check Ioana Radu and Romica Puceanu. thanks.

It is Maria Tanase. Maria T is a 2005 album from the Balanescu Quartet that reimagines the music of Tanase and in several of the tracks (like mountain call) samples her vocals. If you’re a fan of Maria Tanase’s music I strongly recommend you get your hands on this one.

    that durutti is absolutely amazing.

Hey moka I should upload Gavin Bryar for your traveling iPod. It has that expansive sound, weirdly science fiction too. (It goes nicely with Terje, durutti)

There are also a couple weird violin pieces too along this texture. But I thnk MdM is overloading on ambient, minimalist, modern stuff…

hah.. But I am still in the mood for this, since it’s pretty chilly outside.
