Interdependency

Blog tag. Phronesisaical has tagged MdM with Thinkin Blogs meme. Five blogs that prod MdM’s often apathetical and isolated brain. It takes awhile to respond since this is MdM’s first (much too long). But I suppose This is how MdM will respond. With a playlist.

First of all, we would like to thank Phronesisaical for mentioning MdM. We are very proud.

Here are five blogs that often push our collective brain to think:

1. 20 Jazz Funk Greats
2. The Rawking Refuses to Stop
3. Undomondo
4. Dial “M” for musicologist
5. Pandagon

Rules:
If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.

About choice.

Being the only daily playlist mp3 blog, MdM often forgets that there is more to music than pure series of sound. Altho’ there are many more, the select few blogs above more often give MdM insight what goes on beyond comfortable routines. 20JFG for street insight, Rawking for indie and west coast flavor, Undomondo for eclectic international taste, Dial M for cultural context and theory and Pandagon for political and cultural opinion. These eclectic blogs broaden MdM’s world view.

And the list.

Since this is MdM’s first. I suppose the list below is self conscious in term of complexity and effort to present a theme that incorporate larger world events. The tracks in MdM’s opinion also capture musical trend that point to sound texture to come. Electronically manipulated sound, unusual composition, synthetic texture, or well executed standards form. But above all, music puts itself in world events while answering musical need. A struggle for context. Something that MdM finds important. A satisfying work reveals what drive music forward by answering its own aesthetic demand and external acceptance. Eventhough this list is not as practical as usual posts, the overall sound is futuristically forward looking while remain optimistic and staying away from alienation. There is some practical use in it.

    uhm,
    hey guys.

yeah. About the awards. each will receive a full penny worth of Burger King coupon and a happy meal toy. A complete plastic dining set, complimentary of KFC. And Taco Bell condiment packages.

    hah.

But on serious note. It’s really fun reading all the stuff you post, giving lots of posting ideas.

oh. and I am hoping nobody will really listen to the list because it has a long stretch of unresolved tracks one after another, a little annoying after listening to it again. I hope I get away with it.

okay. I am going to read ya’lls blog before posting today. I need idea again. heh.

    cheers.
