This list takes off where the slow and heavy grooving pieces of the previous instalment left us. Om is definitely one of my favourites within the genre and this track from their latest (and with drummer Chris Hakius leaving this duo, sadly enough, probably also their final) studio album Pilgrimage makes for a perfect bridge from the previous part of this series. But soon after, things get a little different. It’s darker and a lot more unforgiving than the previous one.
And Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words (a.k.a. Thomas Ekelund from Göteborg, Sweden) is there to prove it. An ominous and alarming introductory piece of an album of which a different track was used in this post. The Tsukimono (a.k.a. Johan Gustavsson, also from Göteborg, Sweden) track spews out some delicious harsh noise at us – like a swarm of cosmic rubble and dust that shreds everything on its path – while remaining surprisingly optimistic and dreamy. Pretty amazing stuff!
And to finish things off there is a track from the modern masterpiece Black One by Sunn O))) (pronounced just as sun) that provides us with an irresistible slab of monstrous drones and a wonderfully mysterious and atmospheric piece from the up-and-coming female-duo Pocahaunted.

Great playlist as usual - especially the Tsukimono track! Reminds me a lot of the excellent Yellow Swans.
Thanks, Johan! The next part (in about one or two weeks) will actually have some Yellow Swans in it!
