    Tracks 1 & 2 don’t seem to be complete.

Other than that, a great playlist, as usual.

  2. Moka says:

if i try to preview the song before i download, then the link doesn’t work.

Ellen Mcilwaine … my god! We were pals in 1960′s Atlanta, and our little gang travelled together to gigs all over the South, until I was drafted and sent to Asia. (Yes, I turned 65 last month)

She wouldn’t admit it in public, but she did the best rendition of
“Honky-Tonk Angels” I’ve ever heard! Bless you, Ellie, wherever you are.

I think you can contact her.

    according to her wiki:

In 2006 Ellen started her own label Ellen McIlwaine Music and released Mystic Bridge featuring the genius of Indian Tabla Drummer Cassius Khan. They are joined by the Soprano Saxophone stylings of Linsey Wellman on three cuts including their rocking version of “Take Me to the River”, and soulful Harmonium playing by Amika Kushwaha on the last cut “The Question”, a poem by Christine Steele recited over Cassius Khan’s beautiful vocal rendition of the ancient Urdu poem set to music, “Darbari Raag”.

Ellen has one of the greatest voices, very potent. I just found about her very recently and it has been one of my favorite discoveries of the year.

You should definitely contact her Bob, it’s always a good surprise to hear from long lost friends.

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
hidden in the earth.
