You kept us waiting for this one. Gave me a chance to actually listen properly through the old ones!

Great list, great music, great site!

Loving this one. Would have personally picked up another do make say think song but Chinatown is beautiful.

  3. andrew says:

yeah – this is my favourite of the lists so far. nice.

    Glad you’re all enjoying :)

tvod: I have to agree that it’s probably not the best choice since it’s not very representative of their sound. I was torn between Chinatown and Horns of a Rabbit from ‘winter hymn…’ – but in the end I went with the former because I have some good memories attached to it. 2002 was a great year for me.

This is by far my favorite of the series thus yet. Truly mesmerising. The first section is especially hypnotic. Are there any other mixes you have made of that electronic ambient music? Also have you heard Whistleblower by Vladislav Delay? I think it’s one of the best albums of 2007.

On a side note you should create a top ten list for every decade of the 20th century. 10′s – 90′s

Thank you for this wonderful instalment on your blog!

The song makes its imprint
in the air, making itself felt,
a felt world. Here, there,
the stunned silence

of knowing I will not remember
what I heard;

futures that will never happen,
a fluidity we cannot achieve
except as a child
creating possibility.

This is the untranslatable song
hidden in the earth.
